Health, fitness and nutrition has developed so much over the last decade and even more so over the last 20 years. For example, we were told not to eat fat as it made us overweight and gave us high cholesterol.
Yet, research now shows this not to be completely true: good fats are needed. Eating fat allows us to absorb essential vitamins and minerals.
We are also finally learning that eating too much processed food, especially sugar, is bad for our health. Schools have bought cooking back into the curriculum and there are many more educative programs on TV teaching us what and how to cook.
Education is key to us all; taking notice of the latest research will help you make informed decisions about your health and wellbeing. Not got enough time to do this? I strongly suggest you talk to a professional.
There are a number of experts your can talk to and here are my personal top five to help you:
- Registered Personal Trainer
- Naturopathic Nutritional Therapist
- Osteopath or Chiropractor
- Your partner! (Yep, these are the people that can truly see where you need to make changes and will help you the most)
I believe there is not a one size fits all answer, especially if you’re looking to lose weight. There are four areas that need to be considered: Movement / Mindset / Exercise / Nutrition.
